There you will find several small stores and for dining options you may enjoy World famous Roy's, Maui Brewing Company, and McDonald's. Relax by our freshwater heated pool or snorkel or swim in the warm reef-protected Pacific waters.  The perfect setting, for the perfect tropical vacation!


The Resort

Welcome to Hololani, where vibrant sunsets, whimsical tropical breezes and mystifying oceans await you. In Hawaiian, Hololani means “gone to heaven” and that is ambiance you will experience as you let the surroundings invoke you. The Hololani is an oceanfront property and the convenience of new elevators will take you from your reserved FREE underground parking to your resort accommodations.  With our naturally occurring coast land constantly shifting, we hope you understand that because of natural oceanic movement, we cannot guarantee that we will always have a sandy beach directly in front of our property, however because of our location you will always enjoy the wonderful views of oceanfront living that our Maui homes provide. The layout of Hololani makes it perfect to enjoy the beautiful sunsets, turtles, and if it is whale season, breaching whales many times right from your lanai.  With 300 feet of beach front, this property includes 63 units in two 8-story buildings which were erected in 1974.  There are many leisure’s to select from while on this heavenly experience. Relax by our freshwater heated pool or try snorkeling in the warm reef-protected Pacific waters. Stroll down the golden sandy beach in front of the Hololani Resort, and in the evening sit poolside with the romantic flicker of tiki torches and lit up palm trees as you prepare you dinner on one of the many gas-fired grills.

Unit Details

All of our condominiums are two bedroom, two bath, open air beachfront units with amazing views of the surrounding islands of Lanai and Molokai. With a fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher and microwave oven, to the spacious, tropical themed living area, these units provide everything you need for your island get away. Included is a private telephone, cable television, DVD, stereo with CD player and your own washer and dryer in each unit, which make this the perfect accommodation for whatever your vision of relaxation includes. You are now able to stay “connected” as well with the Free Wireless Hotspots covering all of the Hololani Resort and is available to all our guests. From your private Lanai, experience breathtaking sunsets, vibrant rainbows, spectacular sightings of spinner dolphins, and during the winter months, the majesty of breaching whales.

If you request an availability calendar, we'll provide one for you.  The up to date calendar is on the Vacation Internationale secure site so we're unable to post or link to it.  About 70% of our business comes from cancellations and from "fills" from waitlists we request for our guests.  So even if we don't have availability right now, we very well may be able to accommodate you.  


Our rates include all fees and taxes.  Rates depend on whether your visit is during low or high season and how many days in advance of arrival that you book.  See links to the left for a rate calculator. A one time reservation/cleaning fee of $40-$50 is applied to all reservations.  Discounts  are available to military, veterans, some seniors, and those who are disabled.  We want everyone to be able to afford a vacation.  Low Price Guarantee:  (for Bookings made 40 or less days in advance of arrival only)  If you are able to find a comparable unit for less, right up to your day of arrival, we will beat that price by 5%.  For all other rates, we will strive to beat any other price you find for a comparable unit. Located just North of the world famous Kaanapali Beach, on the west coast of Maui, Hololani hosts two bedroom, open style condominiums with spectacular views of the neighboring islands of Lanai and Molokai. The beach in front of Hololani and may other resorts on West Maui has eroded.  There is normally a pathway open to a long beautiful beach about 300 feet South.

Know Before You Go (updated 11/1/16)

Beach Access

The beach located in front of the resort is being undermined by the ever changing ocean swells and waves, currents and tidal effects. For several reasons, (climate change, new ocean cycles, etc.,) these effects are occurring throughout Hawaii, including up and down the West Maui coast. For safety reasons the beach access will be closed off when necessary.

There is currently no beach in front of Hololani.  Other than when construction is going on, there is access through the adjacent property to the beach in front of Valley Isle.

A sand bagging project has started on 10/31/16 and will last a few weeks.

Check-in:  The check-in office for Hololani is at the Valley Isle Resort.  For after hours check-in, please call (800) 262-4048 for instructions.

VI Staff:  There are no VI personnel onsite; concerns should be directed to the VI staff located at the Valley Isle resort.

Limited privacy: One bedroom is separated from the living room with a sliding screen.

Air Conditioning: The units do not have air conditioning, but are equipped with ceiling fans.

Accommodations/Lodging Tax:  As required by state and local regulations, this nightly tax rate is based on condominium size  and season.

Parking:  One (1) parking stall per unit.  Exceptions cannot be made.  All vehicles not parked legally may be towed at the Guests's expense.

Internet access is available in each condominium.

Lost and Found Policy:  Vacation Internationale is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen personal items.  Each resort keeps detailed records of all 'found' items, and will ship them back at the owner's expense, based upon local mail/shipping restrictions.  Any items in the Lost & Found, which are not claimed within 90 days, will be donated to a local charity or discarded.
